Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) may support people living with musculoskeletal pain, joint pain, chronic pain, and inflammation. In Chinese medicine, pain is often linked to Qi and Blood stagnation, or Bi syndrome, where blockage in the channels causes stiffness, swelling, and discomfort. Treatment may include acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, and tailored herbal medicine to promote circulation and restore balance. Current research suggests acupuncture can help reduce some types of chronic musculoskeletal pain and improve function, making it a useful option within evidence-informed care. After a consultation at our wellness clinic, we prescribe custom-made granule formulas tailored to support your digestive health and women's health. Additionally, we provide guidance on dosage, interactions, and storage, utilizing the benefits of herbal medicine and our acupuncture services.
Our wellness clinic utilises traditional suction and scraping techniques that effectively ease muscular tension and improve circulation. These methods complement our acupuncture services and herbal medicine offerings, promoting enhanced digestive health and supporting women's health.
Our acupuncture services utilize a precise classical method that has been practiced for over 2000 years in the Middle East (Hijama) and China to clear Heat, move stagnant Blood, and relieve acute pain. This can be one with cupping to enhance the detoxification process and move blood stagnation. This technique is often enhanced with herbal medicine to promote digestive health and support men and women's health at our wellness clinic.
At our wellness clinic, gentle warming of channels using moxa helps to tonify Yang and disperse Cold. This practice supports both digestive health and women's health through the combined benefits of our acupuncture services and herbal medicine.
Uses glass cups briefly heated with a flame to create mild suction on the skin. This cupping technique promotes the smooth flow of Qi and Blood, releases muscular tension, dispels Cold and Damp, and supports local circulation. These practices are often part of our acupuncture services at the wellness clinic, which can enhance overall wellness and contribute to digestive health and women's health through holistic approaches like herbal medicine. Aftercare: Slight circular marks are normal and fade within several days. Keep the area clean and covered, and avoid hot showers and vigorous activity for 24 hours.
Fine, sterile needles are gently inserted to regulate the flow of Qi and Blood, supporting the body’s natural ability to restore balance.
Chinese Medicine (TCM) views many joint conditions through the lens of Bi Syndrome (painful obstruction) -where the smooth flow of Qi and Blood is blocked by factors such as Wind, Cold, Damp or Heat, or weakened by long-term deficiency (often involving the Liver and Kidneys, which govern tendons and bones in TCM theory). This pattern-based approach helps explain why some joint pain is worse in cold or damp weather, why swelling and heat can flare, or why long-standing pain may feel deep, fixed, or stubborn.

During an acupuncture session, you will lie down on a comfortable table while the acupuncturist inserts thin needles into specific points on your body. You may feel a slight prick or a sensation of warmth or heaviness. You will then relax for about 20-30 minutes before the needles are removed.
It is recommended that you wear loose, comfortable clothing to your acupuncture session. It is also best to avoid eating a heavy meal or consuming alcohol or caffeine before your appointment.
Many insurance plans now cover acupuncture, but it is best to check with your provider to see if it is covered under your specific plan.
